The Board of the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) has today moved to clarify some inaccuracies being reported surrounding a potential merger with the Country Rugby League (CRL).
Positive talks between the two groups have begun and will continue to do so with the view to a possible merger of the two organisations.
Geoff Carr, NSWRL General Manager, is happy with the progression of the talks however stresses that it is highly premature to make any assumptions surrounding the makeup of the new potential Board at this time.
“If an agreement can be reached that is satisfactory to all parties involved, there will still need to be a proposal put to the general committees of both the New South Wales and Country Rugby Leagues for approval,” Mr Carr said.
“However until that process takes place it is impossible to speculate as to what the merged entity would look like.”
