JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE ROUND UP - WEEK ONE
7/02/2013 12:00:00 PM

The 2013 Junior Representative season is set to kick off this weekend as 18 sides in both competitions battle it out for the right to be crowned champions.

The Melbourne Storm have entered a side in the Harold Matthews Cup for the first time this year, meaning that there is now parity (18 teams) across both of our competitions.

2012 SG Ball Cup and National Final winners, Balmain, begin the defence of their title with a tough Round One road trip to Kogarah to take on St George.

Adding some spice to this match up will be the clash of the coaches with former Dragons team mates in Ben Hornby (St George) and Matthew Head (Balmain) eye balling one another from opposite sides of the halfway mark.

In Harold Matthews Cup action, 2012 winners, the Parramatta Eels, will square off against a Sydney Roosters side looking to bounce back in 2013 after a horror 2012 season.
