The Newcastle Knights VB NSW Cup team celebrated their fourth win in a row with a 38-18 victory over the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Originally scheduled to take place at Leichhardt Oval on the Saturday, inclement weather forced the Round 16 match to be moved to Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the eighth minute and went on to lead 18-10 at half time only for the Knights to come from behind in the second half to defeat last year’s grand finalists by 20-points.
The Tigers got off to an early six point lead but it didn't take long for the Knights to hit back through Chanel Mata’utia, who received a beautiful offload from Timana Tahu and scored in the corner, 6-4.
Joel Luani dived over the line from dummy half to extend the Tigers lead by six points in the 27th minute. Sean Meaney added the extras to take the score to 12-4.
Josh Mantellato, who returned from a rib injury to take his place on the wing, sprinted down the left edge to score the Knights second of the match. He then converted his own try and the Knights were behind by two points.
