If NSWRL’s Wheelchair Rugby League open day shows one thing, it’s that the sport knows no bounds.

Staged at Menai Indoor Sports Centre last Saturday night, the “come and try” evening, featuring NSW’s best Wheelchair Rugby League players, former NRL stars and state political representatives, highlights how ‘the Greatest Game of All’ is one for everyone.

A result of the tireless work of the likes of Joseph Chidiac, Founder of Wheelchair Rugby League Australia, and Steve Hewson, from NSWRL, NSW’s Wheelchair Rugby League competition is open to all people irrespective of physical ability, including those known as ‘ABs’ (able-bodied players).

Former NRL heroes Ben Ross, Hazem El Masri and Steve Turner are just three to try their hand at the sport in recent weeks – and judging by their reactions they had plenty of fun. With a new competition due to start on October 26 at Menai, why not get involved too?
