There’s plenty of cause for celebration at today’s Ronny Gibbs Sevens tournament, with 2015 marking the 20th anniversary of an event that brings so much joy and excitement to those from the far west of New South Wales.

Named after a legend of league, the Ronny Gibbs Sevens, held at Bourke, attracts boys and girls rugby league and netball participants across two age divisions and one day of competition.

For the man himself, it’s a huge honour to see sport, through his tournament, capture the hearts and minds of people in remote regional locations – and, in this special anniversary year, to see so many famous faces join him for the trip to Bourke.

The 20th annual Ronny Gibbs Sevens tournament kicks-off at Davidson Oval in Bourke today, August 26. Keep checking www.nswrl.com.au for all the latest information on the Ronny Gibbs Shield.
