He’s no stranger to the NRL, but Cutters fullback Adam Quinlan has this year been one of the form players of the Intrust Super Premiership NSW.

After notching up 25 games for the Dragons in 2013 and 2014, asserting himself as a solid back-up for Josh Dugan, the fullback signed with the Eels in 2015. Quinlan spent all of his time playing for Wentworthville, however, and headed to England where he saw out the year with St Helens.

2016 saw Quinlan return to where it all began and while he has only managed four NRL appearances this season, he has been as impressive as ever for the Cutters. The custodian slotted in seamlessly to a star Illawarra backline, featuring the likes of Kurt Mann, Taane Milne, Yaw Kiti Glymin, Kalifa Faifai Loa, Levi Dodd and, in recent times, Tim Lafai.

With several quality fullbacks contesting for the fullback position in the 2016 Team Of The Year, Quinlan remains a contender, having appeared in the Team Of The Week on three occasions. The Culburra Dolphins junior has scored eight tries from his 14 games for Illawarra, combining well with changing halves pairings and outside backs.

The Dragons won’t be playing NRL finals this season, and Quinlan himself remains under an injury cloud – but should the 23-year-old take the field, he will be a large part of the Cutters’ bid for the Intrust Super Premiership NSW title.

Witness history this September at the 2016 NSWRL Grand Final Day. On Sunday, 25 September the Intrust Super Premiership NSW decider, along with the Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield Grand Finals, take place at Pirtek Stadium, with tickets just $10 for adults and kids under 12 free. Click here to secure your seat.
