Since playing his 16th Origin game for the NSW VB Blues, Robbie Farah has been sensationally dropped to the Intrust Super Premiership NSW, and signed on with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

That last game seems light years away with the well-publicised drama surrounding Farah at the moment, but he is still in the box seat to retain his no. 9 jersey for the 2017 State of Origin series.

He played well throughout the 2016 series, doing his job with an average of 100 passes per game, which included four offloads that all created space or opportunity.

As usual, Farah stood tall in defence, having made 137 tackles with a 97.2% efficiency rate, which is no easy feat with the likes of Matt Scott and Josh Papalii running at him all series.

A fresh start in Redfern could be what Farah needs to get back to his dominant best, and if he does light it up in the red and green, we could see him back in sky-blue on 31 May next year.

Robbie Farah:

Origins: 16
2016 Matches: 3 (Game I, II and III)
Offloads: 4
Tackles: 137
Tackle Efficiency Rate: 97.2%
