Wade Graham was destined to play State of Origin since the early stages of his career, but he probably wishes that he did not false start.
The Cronulla Sharks had a fantastic victory against the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 14 of the 2016 NRL season. During that match, the NSW VB Blues team for Game II against Queensland was announced, with Graham being named to debut.
Unfortunately, in the same match, Graham was penalised and put on report for a high tackle on Johnathan Thurston. He went up to camp, and had to fly back to Sydney for the hearing, where he was found guilty and suspended for the Origin match.
Much to his credit, Graham still flew back up to Coffs Harbour, trained with the team and helped where he could. He certainly earned a lot of praise with that wonderful attitude, and was then picked for Game III at ANZ Stadium.
He was a big part of the win that night, with his biggest moment being when he stuck his boot out and the ball trickled into the in-goal area for Andrew Fifita to win the race and plant the ball down for a vital try.
