Turn Back Time | Anthony Minichiello

Anthony Minichiello was one of the game’s most illustrious fullbacks. Whether lining up for his club, state or country, the man nicknamed ‘Mini’ never took a backwards step.

During his prosperous 15 year NRL career, Minichiello played over 300 games for his beloved Roosters and finished with a second premiership.

Mini debuted at the young age of 19 years and went on to play for his state and country, before becoming the number one player in the world in 2005.

However, in 2006, just months after claiming one of the game’s biggest honours, the Roosters fullback was struck down with a serious back injury.

Minichiello played just 33 games in the following four seasons, but after a long battle with injury, the lightning no.1 returned to eventually pull on the sky blues jersey once again.
