Manly Warringah Sea Eagles SG Ball full-back Alan Tuigamala is resting in hospital after complaining of chest pains during a competition match against South Sydney Rabbitohs at Erskineville Oval today.

Tuigamala was making his debut for the Sea Eagles after playing in last year’s SG Ball competition with St George.

Play was help up for 15 to 20 minutes whilst he received on field attention from a South Sydney medical officer on duty at the game.

Tuigamala was subsequently taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for tests and is resting comfortably with his mother and girlfriend by his bedside.

The Manly Sea Eagles will monitor Tuigamala’s condition closely and he will need to be medically cleared before he contemplates playing again.

There were some suggestions that he may have suffered a heart attack but subsequent tests seemed to indicate that was not the case.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will continue to update on his progress when possible.
