The NSW Women's Pathways squad began the road to retain the Interstate Challenge title when they came together today at Sydney Olympic Park for the first of seven camps in 2017.

The squad of 15 players include women involved in last year’s historic Interstate Challenge victory and women who represented the Indigenous All Stars in Newcastle earlier this month.

Players in the NSW Women’s Premiership and Tarsha Gale Cup will be added to the squad throughout the first half of the year, as NSWRL Talent ID members and the NSW Women’s coaching staff search for the best players in the state.

This weekend’s two-day camp will encompass both on and off-field sessions, including mental workshops, video reviews, training sessions and lessons based around the holistic development of a complete Rugby League player.

The female Pathways Program will be directly aligned to the male Pathways Program for the first time, coinciding with the rapid rise of the women's game in NSW.
