The NSWRL has continued to push socially-oriented Rugby League with the launch of the Fun Footy Festival, to be played at St Marys on 10 June.

The festival, which invites under-9s, under-11s and under-13s age groups to participate, will feature the "W8s" and "M8s" formats of Rugby League. W8s is a weight-based game, where children play with and against players of a similar size, rather than age, while M8s aims for players to come together to play with friends and create new friendships.

The festival is not based on any existing club structure, meaning players can come from various teams to form a team - and players are also not required to be currently registered to a Junior Rugby League club. This unique feature makes the festival a perfect way for new players to be introduced to the game without committing to a full season.

With a registration fee of just $20, the day promises to be a fun experience for all involved. Team Coordinators will be sent a team registration form and information pack once the expression of interest has been registered.
