After an indifferent preparation throughout last year’s State of Origin series, VB Blues lock forward Tyson Frizell now feels right at home in the NSW fold, ahead of Wednesday’s Game I at Suncorp Stadium.

Earning a first start in 2016 through an untimely suspension to fellow back-rower Wade Graham, Frizell says he’s now settled and has a much stronger sense of inclusion in the side.

“I feel a bit more relaxed coming into camp, last year it was a bit of a rollercoaster coming in, and getting thrown in last minute,” Frizell says.

“I still have the expectation to fill that jersey and to be able to play well in this arena but, this time around, it’s a lot more easier and a lot more comfortable coming into this game.”

Frizell also spoke of his role in Laurie Daley’s team this series, suggesting that he is more likely to feature in the middle-third of the field, opposed to an edge as he did in his debut outing in 2016.
