NSW VB Blues utility Jack Bird has shown the makings of his toughness on the biggest stage, and this Origin series, he’ll be out to prove his versatility.

The 22-year-old sensation admits he’s yet to learn of his exact role in Laurie Daley’s plans for Wednesday (31 May) night, though says he has no qualms in playing in an unfamiliar position if need be.

“Coming off the bench, whether it’s in the middle playing lock or maybe in the hooker position, I’ve spoken to Loz (Laurie Daley) about going there,” Bird says.

“I don’t think I will, but if I have to, I will.

“(Hooker) is probably the only positon I’ve never played – that and front row – but like I said, if I have to play there, I will.”
