Preparations continued for the NSW VB Blues on Thursday, as the side once more took to Leichhardt Oval to hone their skills ahead of next Wednesday’s Origin II.

VB Blues Advisor Peter Sterling - speaking with fellow True Blue Steve 'Blocker' Roach for today's Blues News - says NSW must show more than they did in Game One to trump the Queensland outfit again.

"When picking the squad, we told the players that we wanted to stick with the same 17 players for the three games," Sterling says.

"[Queensland's] changes were mostly predictable ... We always knew that if Johnathan Thurston was fit, that he would come back in. I don't think Billy Slater gave them a choice, he's been playing wonderful since he came back from injury.

"They're a really formidable team, it's going to be tough. If we're not better than we were in Game One, that won't be good enough."
