She didn't want to mention it in the lead-up to Sunday's game, but following New South Wales' 22-6 win over Queensland in the Women's Interstate Challenge champion fullback Sam Bremner is starting to dream of a blue dynasty.
The Blues had to endure 17 years of heartbreak before they were finally able to lift the Nellie Doherty Cup in 2016, and Sunday's victory at WIN Stadium suggests the tide has turned in their favour.
With a perfect blend of youth and experience, the Blues certainly have what it takes to dominate the representative scene for the next few years.
A veteran of seven Interstate Challenges, Bremner is still only 25. Two-time MVP Kezie Apps is arguably the best player in the game, Ruan Sims's crunching shot on Karina Brown showed she is still a force to be reckoned with while Maddie Studdon's kicking game rivals the best in the business.
"We've got such a young team with so much development to go. I'm only 25 and I'm one of the oldest in the team so that's just the most exciting part," Bremner said after the game.
"We do have a long way to go and it's really going to be an exciting time to see how far we can go in the next few years.
"We've got a very young squad and a lot of development to go. We've got a lot of mateship off the field which has been created from our coaching staff which has really helped us on the field. It's an exciting time for New South Wales rugby league and I'm really excited to be a part of it."
No one typified the new winning culture more than 19-year-old debutant Jessica Sergis who scored a hat-trick on the right wing, and judging by her post-match comments the blue era is just getting started.
"This is our time now," Sergis said. "Hopefully we can switch it around and we'll have 17 years on top."
