It was a polarising series for Josh Dugan compared to last year.

In 2016, he managed only one full half of State of Origin football after being ruled out of the opening two games and then breaking his jaw in the third. This year, he managed to play out the entire series, with his stand-out moment at fullback when James Tedesco went off with concussion.

With the opening two games being full of highlights, Dugan still managed to snare a try in the Game III fixture thanks to an athletic effort where he out-jumped his opposition to snatch the ball out of the air and score early in the second half.
