Brock Gardner’s time at South Sydney did not go to plan at all thanks to COVID-19.

He joined the club from the Newcastle Knights in 2019 and completed the 2020 pre-season as a part of the top 30, but when the NSW Cup was cancelled, he struggled to get any game time at all for the year.

2020 was tough for players like Gardner who trained all year with no reward, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel with the NSWRL competitions getting the green light for 2021.

Gardner has an impressive record in the juniors having captained the Newcastle Knights in both the Harold Matthews and SG Ball competitions. He also played for the NSW Under-16s team.
