Canterbury Cup NSW /

The Canterbury Cup NSW is the state's premier men's open-age competition, directly feeding into the NRL.

The NSW Rugby League entered a new era in 2019 with the announcement of Canterbury as the naming-rights partner of the state's premier competition, which has previously been known as Reserve Grade, Presidents Cup, NSWRL First Division, NSWRL Premier League and the Intrust Super Premiership NSW. 

Featuring dozens of NRL-contracted players every weekend and 12 proud clubs, the competition regularly presents high-quality Rugby League to audiences across Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Canberra and Auckland.

In 2018, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs ended a six-year NSW Cup premiership drought with an 18-12 Grand Final victory over the Newtown Jets at Leichhardt Oval. The competition was more even than any other season in recent memory; it saw six regular-season draws.

The competition continued to be a vital pathway to the NRL; in 2018, more than 35 came directly via the NSWRL pathway and had played in the Canterbury Cup NSW (nee Intrust Super Premiership NSW) prior to making their name on the big stage.

After downing the Jets in the 2018 decider, the Bulldogs A week later, progressed to the NRL Intrust Super State Championship on NRL Grand Final Day, where they defeated Queensland's Intrust Super Cup Premiers the Redcliffe Dolphins 42-18. The Bulldogs' success was the third-consecutive win for NSWRL teams over their Queensland counterparts in the annual fixture.
