Foundation

The Foundation of the NSWRL is the philanthropic arm of the NSWRL with a purpose of:

  • helping to develop healthy lifestyles, through a focus on nutrition and activity, for young Australians, in particular the Indigenous community
  • advancing the wellbeing of Australians through the provision of mentoring services
  • supporting former Rugby League players and others in necessitous circumstances.

Whilst NSW is one half of the biggest sporting event each and every year (State of Origin), the NSWRL is also a community-based organisation delivering Rugby League competitions to recreational and competitive participants of all ages. Through the power of Rugby League and our Rugby League connections, the NSWRL would like to enhance it is ability to give back to the community that supports the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues and the NSWRL by helping those who are less fortunate than us.

One of the Foundation's main support missions is the Brad Fittler-led Hogs For The Homeless tour, in aid of Father Chris Riley's Youth Off The Streets. Since its inception in 2013, the tour has raised almost $600,000 for youth homelessness, with $134,000 raised in 2017 alone.

John Ajaka has been appointed as Chairman of NSWRL Foundation.
