With tickets recently going sale for the 2014 City versus Country clash in Dubbo, the NSWRL Board have moved to reappoint Blues legend Brad Fittler as City Coach for the match at Apex Oval.

“I’m really pleased to announce that, at its last meeting, the Board of the New South Wales Rugby League decided to reappoint Brad Fittler as the City Origin Coach for 2014 season,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.

“It is a really important appointment because it allows us to continue and build on the great work that Brad has done for the City Origin team for the past couple of years.

“It’s also important because it provides a real pathway to the State of Origin team with Brad being a key member of Laurie Daley’s staff.”

Fittler has worn his heart on his sleeve in recent years when talking about his passion for the Sydney area and he was quick to ignite that passion when talking to Renee Gartner about his reappointment in a recent interview for www.nswrl.com.au.

“It’s awesome. I was born into the south west, lived out west, I moved over to the northern beaches, and now I reside in the city, so the city of Sydney holds a special place in my heart, I love it,” Fittler said.

“We chose some kids who are coming through (last year), some possible Blues players of the future….It is a great breeding ground for up and coming Origin players."
