Rising stars of rugby league have joined veterans from throughout the State for the NSWRL's Semi-pro day at the University of Western Sydney's Parramatta campus.
Organised by NSWRL Welfare and Education Programs Manager Greg Nichols, the day long seminar gave players an insight into the on and off-field demands of life as a professional rugby league player.
The sessions aimed primarily at players from NSW VB Cup clubs covered topics such as ASADA and the anti-doping regulations, mental health, gambling and social media as well as advice on assistance available with further education and trades.
Former NRL a stars, including Brad Morrin, Adam Woolnough and Jamie Feeney were among the speakers with the NSWRL to run the day annually to help assist players achieve their goals in football and their post rugby league careers.
