The NRL State Championship remains in Queensland after the Ipswich Jets claimed a 26-12 victory over VB NSW Cup champions, Newcastle Knights.

But the Knights can indeed hold their heads high after a superb season, storming from seventh place to seize the VB NSW Cup and cap an unforgettable season, giving Newcastle plenty of reasons to be optimistic for next year.
