The NSWRL are looking to grow and expand on the current Tertiary Rugby League Competition with currently seven clubs across Sydney with various institutions represented:
- Sydney University
- University of Technology Sydney
- Cumberland Beavers (Sydney University Campus)
- University of Western Sydney
- Australian Catholic University
- TAFE Western Sydney Institute
- Macquarie University

NSW Tertiary Rugby League Nines Tournament
Played at Norford Park on Saturday, 25 March 2017, the Tertiary Nines is a gala day tournament with any open-age team welcome to join the fun (players must be registered participates). Prizes include equipment vouchers for first, second and third-placed teams.
