Each week, the NSWRL.com.au staff writers will name their 17 best performers from the weekend's Intrust Super Premiership NSW. These selections, heavily based on statistical data, are the opinions of the writers and do not necessarily reflect the views of the NSWRL.

1 – Matt Moylan
Club: Penrith Panthers; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

15 total runs, 125 total metres, one try-assist, one line-break, four tackle-breaks, one offload, 10 tackles.
Given the obvious class of NSW VB Blues incumbent and Penrith Panthers captain Moylan, he only needed to put forward a solid showing by his standards to be among the best 17 in the Intrust Super Premiership NSW Round 6. With significant expectation to deliver the win against the lowly-placed Knights, Moylan was unable to achieve that but still looked dangerous whenever he touched the ball.

2 – Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck
Club: Wyong Roos; 2017 TOTW selections: 0

18 total runs, 159 total metres
The fleet-footed outside back caused plenty of chaos for Wentworthville, making a game-high 63 post-contact metres. The brother of Roger, Johnny is one to look out for in the Roosters system.

3 - Paul Momirovski (c)
Club: Wyong roos; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

12 total runs, 90 total metres, two try-assists, two line-break-assists, one line-break, three tackle-breaks, one offload, 15 tackles, one try.
Shifting from fullback into the centres, Momirovski was a standout in the Roos’ fifth victory of 2017. He set up two tries and scored one in the victory, single-handedly ensuring Wyong continued their strong start to the season and overcame Wentworthville.

4 – Jordan Drew
Club: Newtown Jets; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

12 total runs, 149 total metres, three line-breaks, 11 tackle-breaks, two tries.
The Cronulla Sharks-contracted centre proved a handful for the Warriors in the Jets’ four-point loss across the ditch. The elusive Drew, who has played NRL for the Broncos, looks capable of stepping up to first grade if given an opportunity.

5 – Sitiveni Moceidreke
Club: North Sydney Bears; 2017 TOTW selections: 1.

25 total runs, 219 total metres, one line-break-assist, one tackle-break, two offloads.
With the largest metre count of round 6, Moceidreke was outstanding in a low-scoring affair at Belmore Sportsground. It was a high-quality clash and Moceidreke was willing with his 25 runs – also the most registered by a player on the weekend.

6 – Cameron Cullen
Club: Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles; 2017 TOTW selections: 1.

Seven total runs, 123 total metres, two line-breaks, nine tackle-breaks, two offloads, two tries.
Cullen’s class was on show for all to see in the Fox League Match of the Round as the Sea Eagles overcame the Bears at Lottoland. Combining brilliantly with halfback Jackson Hastings before injury forced the no.7 from the field in the second half, Cullen was involved in several of Blacktown’s six tries including two scored himself. One of those came via a superb individual effort in broken play – in which he is most threatening.

7 – Eli Levido
Club: North Sydney Bears; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

Five total runs, 69 total metres, one tackle-break, 27 tackles, 14 kicks for 281 metres, two goals, one try.
The Bears’ general led from the front once again in the Bears’ narrow win against the Bulldogs, his organisational play pivotal to the win. His 100-per-cent goalkicking ultimately proved the difference.

8 – Anthony Cherrington
Club: North Sydney Bears; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

15 total runs, 155 metres, one tackle-break, 27 tackles.

In 42 minutes the former Sydney Roosters NRL forward showed he still has what it takes to be a force in first grade. The giant front-rower made a team-high 67 metres post contact, helping his side to a victory against Canterbury.

9 – Mitch Rein
Club: Penrith Panthers; 2017 TOTW selections: 2.

Eight total runs, 99 total metres, two line-breaks, four tackle-breaks, 39 tackles, one try.
Moylan, Hiku and Blake weren’t the only three NRL regulars in the Panthers’ outfit on Saturday night – also there was Mitch Rein, who has been unable to crack the top grade since moving to Penrith this season. His value to the side has been clear from Day One, however, and with another good attacking and defensive showing he makes his third Team of the Week for 2017.

10 – Albert Vete
Club: Warriors; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

14 runs, 124 metres, one line-break, five tackle-breaks, three offloads, 24 tackles.
Albert Vete laid the foundations in his side’s close victory against Newtown. Vete made 41 post-contact metres and scored a try at a crucial time in the match to help the home side stretch its unbeaten run.

11 – Shaun Lane
Club: Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

13 total runs, 148 total metres, one tackle-break, three offloads, 21 tackles, one try.
Lane, whose ability in the top grade was infamously made clear in 2015 at the Bulldogs, is onto his second club since then and on Saturday had his best game to date for the Sea Eagles. Three offloads were key to his game, one of which led to a try, while he also scored one himself as Blacktown upset Illawarra.

12 – Cheyne Whitelaw
Club: North Sydney Bears; 2017 TOTW selections: 2.

15 total runs, 126 total metres, 44 tackles.
Whitelaw continues to assert himself as one of the most consistent defenders in the competition, once again leading the tackle count across the round. While his 2016 season was hampered with injury, the second-rower is invaluable to the Bears’ side and is a major reason it was a low-scoring game at Belmore.

13 – Viliame Kikau
Club: Penrith Panthers; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

12 total runs, 162 total metres, two tackle-breaks, 28 tackles.
Returning from the NRL alongside the Panthers trio dropped for disciplinary reasons, Kikau had a good game in the lower division. The lock forward ran further than any other player at St Marys Leagues Stadium despite being credited no line-breaks, also making 28 tackles for only one miss.

INTERCHANGE

14 – Latrell Robinson
Club: North Sydney Bears; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

17 total runs, 207 total metres, one try-assist, one line-break, seven tackle-breaks, one offload.
Robinson came close to unseating the experienced Moylan in the fullback spot at the Team of the Week, which speaks volumes about how well he played for North Sydney. After Moceidreke, the no.1 was second in metres run in that game and was heavily involved, despite a lack of points at Belmore.

15 – Luciano Leilua
Club: Illawarra; 2017 TOTW selections: 1.

One line-break-assist, two line-breaks, nine tackle-breaks, four offloads, 24 tackles, two tackle-breaks.
A Holden Cup star and bright NRL prospect towards the end of last year, Leilua has been impressive for Illawarra in 2017 – with no more dominant game than Saturday afternoon. His try early in the game required sheer power and a bit of footwork, which he replicated again in the second half. When this big man is at full pace, he’s extremely difficult to stop.

16 – Marata Niukore
Club: Wentworthville Magpies; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

15 total runs, 152 total metres, five tackle-breaks, 29 tackles.
While Wentworthville were outplayed in the second half at Morry Breen Oval, Niukore earns his first Team of the Week selection by running further than any Magpie. It was an impressive game from the second-rower, who joins from the Warriors’ Under-20s system in 2017.

17 – Tevita Satae
Club: Warriors; 2017 TOTW selections: 0.

10 total runs, 135 total metres, three tackle-breaks, 19 tackles.
Made a huge impact off the bench in just 35 minutes – including 59 post-contact metres – to keep the momentum going alongside team-mate Vete.
