The NSW Rugby League’s referees program will have the backing of two new sponsors for the next two years with Tuesday's (3 April) announcement of a partnership with I Want 2 Work and MySportsTape.
I Want 2 Work, an innovative online jobs portal that connects employers and job seekers, will appear on the front and back of the uniform, and My Sports Tape will be positioned on the sleeve and shorts for NSWRL match officials across all grades, from grass roots to the elite Intrust Super Premiership NSW.
MySports Tape will also be the preferred sports tape and sports medical supplier of the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues.
NSWRL Head of Commercial Jodie Cross said the organisation is thrilled to welcome both brands into the NSW Rugby League family.
“The match officials play such an important role in our game at all levels so it is wonderful to have the opportunity to partner with two reputable brands to support our referees program,” Cross said.
Referees High Performance Manager Stuart Raper, whose program includes 36 referees in the High Performance grade squad and 45 referees in the Junior Reps, also welcomed the news.
“Match officials often have a tough and thankless job, so it is great to receive such a strong acknowledgement and endorsement of the work we do through these two new partnerships,” Raper said.
The announcement of the new partnerships, effective for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, comes ahead of the start to the NSWRL Junior League season this weekend, which will see 40,000 players take to fields across the state.
