The NSWRL has been advised that the Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League Ltd has gone into liquidation.

NSWRL chief executive David Trodden has said that all junior competitions will proceed in 2019 and has called a meeting for all junior rugby league clubs and life members from the area at Wests Leagues Club Campbelltown on Thursday 24 January at 7.00pm.

"We want to assure all participants in the Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League that despite recent difficulties, junior competitions will proceed in the area in 2019," Trodden said.

"NSWRL is working in close consultation with other stakeholders including Wests Tigers, Wests Magpies and Wests Leagues Club Campbelltown to ensure that all of the players from Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League are looked after.

"The NSWRL recognises that the Macarthur region is a strategically important area for Rugby League and remains committed to the game in the area."
