Some of the best young talent in the country are set to take centre stage once again with the official draw for the 2019 UNE Harold Matthews Cup confirmed.
The under-16's competition will offer the first taste of representative quality football for a majority of young players and allows the perfect pathway for those with first grade aspirations.
Fans can get an insight into their club's future stars with all eight Round One fixtures set to played on Saturday, 9 February with the South Sydney Rabbitohs hosting the Western Suburbs Magpies at Redfern Oval in the first game of the season.
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles claimed their first Harold Matthews Cup title with a 26-18 victory over Parramatta Eels in the 2018 decider and will kick-off their title defence against the Canberra Raiders at Raiders Belconnen.
They will look to become the first team to claim back-to-back premierships since the Parramatta Eels in 2012/13.
The Penrith Panthers claimed the 2018 Minor Premiership after recording just one loss throughout the entire regular season but will be looking to consolidate their Preliminary Final loss to Manly with a strong opening performance against the Sydney Roosters.
