After the conclusion of a thrilling 2014 VB NSW Cup season, we take a look back at the top ten thrilling finishes from the year. Coming in at number one is the Newtown Jets impossible victory against the Penrith Panthers in Round 19.

The Penrith Panthers had swept all before them on the way to 11-straight victories when they lined up against Newtown for the second time in two weeks in Round 19.

On the back of a 36-20 victory the week before, the Panthers looked set to dominate the Jets once again after opening a 30-6 lead with only 19 minutes left to play.

What happened next was as unpredictable as it was brilliant.

Newtown scored 25 unanswered points to snatch the lead with only minutes remaining, with the Jets defence producing one more heroic effort; charging down a field-goal on the last play of the game to seal the most memorbale of victories.

Newtown Jets 31 (J Reuben, N Stapleton, M Evans, D Harris, K Evans tries; N Stapleton 5 goals; S Dureau field goal) def. Penrith Panthers 30 (W Naiqama 2, L Capewell, E Nabuli, A Cherrington, N Smith tries; W Naiqama 3 goals) at Allianz Stadium.
