Ryan Girdler has won over fans for more than two decades, first as a fleet-footed outside back and since retirement as one of the game’s most popular media analysts.

‘Girds’ played more than 200 top-grade games, eight Origin matches, 10 Tests and scored more points for the Panthers than any other player.

Whether in the scarlet and white of Illawarra, the black of the Panthers, the blue of NSW or the green and gold of Australia, Girdler was the centre of attention during his time.

Now playing on NSWRL.com.au, Steve “Blocker” Roach grills Girds on his time in the spotlight during an incredible rugby league career – and what he’s done since hanging up the boots.

You can catch Turn Back Time, profiling NSWRL's greatest Origin players, each Thursday from 6pm exclusively on NSWRL.com.au.

Keep up with all the latest on the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues Origin side via Twitter and Facebook. Use the #TurnBackTime hashtag to continue the discussion about this video and others in the series.
