The construction of the $20 million New South Wales Rugby League Centre of Excellence commenced today at Sydney Olympic park, with NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres turning the first sod on the 'game changing' facility. 

Dr George Peponis OAM, Laurie Daley, Aaron Woods and Ruan Sims were all on hand for the special ceremony, which includes a a full size training field next to the Athletic Centre and a new building for specialised support facilities and the offices of the NSW Rugby League.
