The Daily Telegraph and NSWRL are giving you the chance to pick your favourite player from the 2016 State of Origin series. While the Maroons retained the shield, there were highlights to come from the series which saw a wave of young talent blooded and skipper Paul Gallen farewelled. The emotional victory in Game III at ANZ Stadium, in particular, displayed the NSW VB Blues' never-say-die spirit; Michael Jennings' match-winning try will live on in fans' minds forever.
A total of six debutants - Matt Moylan, Adam Reynolds, Josh Mansour, Dylan Walker, Jack Bird, Tyson Frizell, Wade Graham and James Tedesco - accounted for themselves admirably while the more experienced Boyd Cordner, Aaron Woods, Paul Gallen, James Maloney and Josh Jackson put forward solid performances.
Frizell's heroic effort to almost chase down Dane Gagai in his Origin debut in Game II showed that he could be a VB Blues player for years to come, while Cordner deservedly scored the side's only try in the series opener. Moylan was exceptional in the halves in Game III and Tedesco's linebreak late in that game was instrumental in avoiding a series whitewash.
Origin I Players' Player: Boyd Cordner
Origin II Players' Player: Josh Jackson
Origin III Players' Player: Aaron Woods
