In an historic day for Rugby League, the inaugural Tarsha Gale Cup commenced last weekend after games were cancelled in Round 1.

In the NSWRL.com.au streamed match, the Cronulla Sharks made history with a convincing win over Sydney Indigenous Academy - they defeated their opposition 38-0. Sharks skipper Tayla Preston scored the opening four-pointer in a momentous individual achievement.

In Erskineville, the South Sydney Rabbitohs put forward an equally signficant win over the Wests Tigers 56-16 while the Illawarra Steelers played out a 26-22 thriller, defeating the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at WIN Stadium. Due to mechanical issues with the Penrith Panthers' team bus, their scheduled match against the Canberra Raiders has been postponed and will be played at a later date.

Round 3 arrives this Saturday, with teams named for four more big matches.
