In a big boost for the NSW VB Blues ahead of Game Two (21 June) of the Holden State of Origin Series, the NSWRL today (Monday, 5 June) announced that almost every Blatchys Blues ticket has been snapped up, with all 12,000 Blues fans set to don the new blue SMARTWiG.

While the NSW VB Blues' success in Game One saw sales spike, tickets into the Blatchys Blues section were already selling well after the NSWRL and its partner, The Star Sydney, launched the new SMARTWiG, which has been designed to create more fun and noise than ever before.

The SMARTWiG will provide fans an exclusive in-ear radio show, hosted by NSW VB Blues legends, Bryan Fletcher and Nathan Hindmarsh. The unique radio content will include messages from NSW VB Blues players and coach Laurie Daley before kick-off, Triple M's State of Origin call and the chance for "Fletch and Hindy" to lift 12,000 fans in cheers and chants.

The 12,000 wig-wearing fans will also light up ANZ Stadium as part of the pre-game entertainment, with each wig fitted with an LED light antenna.

NSWRL Head of Commercial, Jodie Cross said: "Blatchys Blues is Australia's biggest supporter group and we are thrilled that 12,000 passionate fans will have the chance to lift the NSW VB Blues at ANZ Stadium.

"The team is chasing a series victory and I'm sure Blatchys fans will have a fantastic experience cheering the team and having the chance to enjoy the benefits of their SMARTWiG."

Speaking last week about the historic drought-breaking series win in 2014, Jarryd Hayne paid tribute to the Blatchys Blues who made the series victory all the more special.

“It’s amazing … that moment will live in my memory forever,” he said. “To go out and celebrate with the Blatchys Blues in 2014 after so many years without a win was special."
