Jordan McLean is expected to miss at least the next month after suffering a suspected broken cheekbone. Having been selected as 19th man for the NSW VB Blues ahead of Origin I, it will likely rule him out of contention for the remainder of the series.

McLean was involved in an accidental clash of heads with Sharks centre Ricky Leutele in the 46th minute of Storm’s win over Cronulla on Thursday night.

The heavy impact forced the Storm prop to sit out the remainder of the game.

He will be further assessed in coming days but the early indications suggest the damage is quite clear.

“He will be out for around four to six weeks by the look of it,” Storm coach Craig Bellamy told melbournestorm.com.au.

“Unfortunately he just got a clash of heads. He has had that injury before so he knows exactly how it is feeling.”

VB Blues coach Laurie Daley will announce his team for Origin II at 6pm AEST tonight, to be published on NSWRL.com.au.
