VB Blues back-rower Josh Jackson has paid his Queensland counterpart –  Origin debutant, Coen Hess – the ultimate compliment ahead of next Wednesday’s Game Two at ANZ Stadium.

Without doubt over the 20-year-old’s readiness for the pressure cooker that is the Origin arena, Jackson says the bullocking edge-forward is set to test the defensive wares of the VB Blues’ halves pairing.

“We done a fair bit of work on him, particularly the guys out on the edge, the halfbacks,” Jackson says.

“He’s a big, strong thing. Near the try line he’s got good footwork and the ability to beat players and obviously score points.

“I’m sure Jimmy Maloney and ‘Pearcey’ [Mitchell Pearce] will be doing a bit of work on him.”
