The NSWRL has received a significant boost ahead of tonight’s Holden State of Origin II at ANZ Stadium, with the organisation attracting 1 million social-media followers across its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.

The NSWRL, whose flagship team the NSW VB Blues meets Queensland tonight, has experienced a surge in social-media followers over the past 12 months, with more than 100,000 joining the discussion since Origin II last year.

With exclusive content across its seven social-media platforms – the NSW Blues Facebook page, NSWRL Facebook page, Intrust Super Premiership NSW Facebook page, Blatchys Blues Facebook page, NSWRL Twitter account , Intrust Super Premiership NSW Twitter account and NSWRL Instagram account – that number is set to increase further in coming years.

“The digital interest in our NSW VB Blues and the NSWRL overall is at an all-time high and that’s a function of not only the Origin team performing well but the organisation as a whole, too,” said NSWRL CEO David Trodden.

“On the eve of Origin, in particular, that’s something we’re particularly proud of. It’s a significant achievement.”

The NSWRL’s website – www.NSWRL.com.au – is also reaching new heights, with the it reaching more supporters than ever before.

The NSWRL also this year launched its Live Match Centre, which allows fans to track the scores and scorers’ details of all NSWRL matches as they happen.
