The North Sydney Bears will farewell coach Ben Gardiner at their presentation on Friday night after two and a half seasons in charge of the club.

When he took over in mid-2015, the side had won just three games from 30 starts, and he completely turned them around and guided them to the finals that year.

The Bears released a statement last night thanking Gardiner’s amazing contribution, saying that he was able to develop a group of players that he inherited looking to progress in the game, and helped build a legacy of hard work, attention to detail and commitment to the task.

It also said that Ben was always there for the players and staff, and that he gave his all to the club.

Gardiner is not just involved with the NSWRL in an Intrust Super Premiership NSW capacity, as he has been an assistant coach of the undefeated NSW under-20s NSW side for the past few seasons.
