Cessnock junior Andrew Johns bestrode the game like a colossus at the turn of the century. His peerless passing and kicking were combined with a textbook defensive style and a fierce determination. He spearheaded Newcastle to premiership success but also starred for New South Wales and Australia, and collected a swag of awards and honours on the way.
