The New South Wales Rugby League’s (NSWRL) vision is to be the game for all, regardless of gender, sexuality, ability or cultural background. In line with our mission to serve and lead the Rugby League community by nurturing and growing pathways to build a stronger community and sport, as a game we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all, free from discrimination and promoting respectful and positive behaviour and values.
Included in the NSWRL’s core values of inheritance, professional, united, courageous, innovative and legacy is the principle that every participant, whether as a player, parent, spectator, coach, volunteer, referee, official or staff member, should respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person, regardless of their personal traits, preferences or appearances.
NSWRL will only achieve its vision to be the game for all when it ensures everyone in our community who wants to belong to the game see themselves genuinely reflected in all aspects of the game.
This includes on and off the field at local clubs and schools, in Rugby League administration and within Rugby League’s workplaces, in the crowd, in media coverage, publicity, promotion and broadcasting of the game and in representative female and male Rugby League teams.
NSWRL INCLUSION PRIORITIES
The NSWRL respects and honours the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of First Nations people on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
INCLUSION PRIORITY AREAS
To achieve our vision to be the game for all, the NSWRL is committed to developing and implementing a series of diversity and inclusion initiatives within our Inclusion Framework. This framework relates to five key areas: First Nations, Pride (LGBTQ+), Gender Equity, Cultural Diversity, and All Abilities.
