SUMMARY: Wentworthville Magpies have survived a late scare to claim their second win of the season, upsetting the Canterbury Bulldogs 25-18 at Pirtek Stadium. Leading 18-6 at half time, the Magpies were stretched for the full 80 minutes by a resurgent Bulldogs outfit. A late field goal from Beau Henry sealed the victory for the home side.
Mounties 24 (K Baptiste 2, B Tupou, W Dragan tries; M Cornish 4 goals) bt Newcastle Knights 22 (J Mamo 2, C Tuimavave 2, J Allison tries; T Randell goal)
SUMMARY: Mount Pritchard Mounties have made it six wins in a row for season 2015 with a thrilling two-point victory over the Newcastle Knights. Knights led for 72 minutes and scored five tries to the Mounties four, however the perfect goal kicking of Mitch Cornish proved to be the difference.
Wyong Roos 24 (N Stapleton, M Williams, L Pulu, A Papalii tries; Stapleton 4 goals) bt Illawarra Cutters 20 (K Glymin 3 tries; S Crook 4 goals)
SUMMARY: An Abraham Papalii try from dummy half in the 79th minute has seen the Wyong Roos steal a four point victory over the Illawarra Cutters at WIN Stadium. Not even a hat trick by Kiti Glymin could wrap up the two point for the home side, with poor discipline in the dying stages resulting in the Roos cementing second place on the NSW Cup table.
New Zealand Warriors 28 (V Kaveinga, J Tua, D Fusitua, A Pewhairangi, D Bhana tries; Pewhairangi 4 goals) bt Wests Tigers 16 (K Rowe, D Hoeter, B Santi tries; J Drinkwater 2 goals)
SUMMARY: The Warriors moved back into the winners circle after defeating Wests Tigers 28-16 at Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday. Leading by 12 points at the break, the home side stretched their margin to 28-10 shortly after the break and never appeared to be run down as they claimed their fourth victory of the season.
Penrith Panthers 24 (D Simmons, S Scarlett, C Smith, B Attwood tries; W Smith 4 goals) bt Manly Sea Eagles 16 (D Reardon, T Andrews, M Chee Kam tries; K Aldridge 2 goals)
SUMMARY: Penrith have overcome a slow start to run out 24-16 over Manly in a game that had plenty of spite at times during the second half. After trailing 12-0 during the first half and 16-10 at halftime, Penrith levelled the scores early in the second half before a Will Smith penalty goal resulting from a fracas 30m out from the Manly try line broke the deadlock. A try to Brendan Attwood with five minutes remaining sealed back-to-back wins for the defending premiers.
Newtown Jets 40 (D Wells 2, T Murphy 2, N Gardner, J Riqoca, M Brown tries; Gardner 6 goals) bt North Sydney Bears 18 (S Manuleleua, A Grey, M Ross tries; N Roberts 3 goals)
SUMMARY: The Newtown Jets have forced their way into the top four with a dominant display over the North Sydney Bears. Nathan Gardner and Dallas Wells inspired the Jets attack at North Sydney Oval as they stormed out to a 28-0 lead and never looked back.
