The classy Cronulla Sharks proved too much to handle for the Townsville Stingers in the Under 16s National Championship Final at Belmore Sports Ground.

The Sharks stormed to a 16-0 halftime lead and led 26-0 with 15 minutes remaining before the Stingers rallied to score four tries.

The visitors struggled with Cronulla's speed and pace out wide who scored five tries in the match.

Sharks lock Lachlan Smith was simply outstanding with his man-of-the-match performance.
