Kicking things off in our first “Week Ahead” and our senior competitions are heating up with round 20 of the VB NSW Cup and Round 19 of Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield commencing today.

The Warriors still sit two points clear at the top of the table in the VB NSW Cup and take on 11th placed Manly in today’s Fox Sports match of the round.

Keep an eye on Warrior Ken Maumalo, Bulldog Corey Thompson and Magpie Beau Henry over the weekend – the trio are in fine try-scoring form and crossed for multiple tries last week.

Warriors winger, Maumalo, crashed over for four tries in their win against the Cutters at WIN Stadium, while Thompson and Henry recorded hat-tricks and will no doubt be dangerous once again this round.

In the Ron Massey Cup, Mounties rule the roost, but they will have their hands full when they take on fourth-placed Blacktown Workers.

Most teams, however, are still in the running for finals football – but, with just five weeks to go until the playoffs, all will be aware now is the time to start hitting their straps.

In the Sydney Shield, Wentworthville Magpies sit on top of the competition ladder – but they are now the hunted side in the competition. Plenty of teams are making late charges, including Guildford who got up in a one-point thriller against Blacktown last weekend, and will be keen to push the Magpies off their perch.
