Greenacre escaped with a thrilling 14-12 Grand Final cliff hanger over a gutsy and inspirational Forestville side.

It took a determined and resilient Greenacre to hold on for an inspirational Sydney Metro Women’s Rugby League premiership for the club.

Greenacre took a 14-0 lead in the first 30 minutes of the match but were forced to hold on for dear life by a brave Forestville side.

Greenacre owned the first half with a penalty goal to start the match, then scored two outstanding tries through Tiaina Tufuga and Chloe Leaupepe.

Forestville were outstanding in the second half holding Greenacre scorless, but heartbreak endured in a top-quality highly-entertaining affair played out in front of an energetic crowd at New Era Stadium, Cabramatta.

Greenacre 14 (T Tufuga, C Leaupepe tries; R McGregor 2 goals) bt Forestvile 12 (A Kaiwai, B Waddell, J Wharepouri tries)
