Season 2015 saw a stunning comeback from VB Blues fullback Josh Dugan.

After a rollercoaster start to his career featuring a number of setbacks, the 25-year-old experienced a breakout season for both his club and on the representative arena in State of Origin.

Branded with the task of stepping into the vacant fullback position for the VB Blues, Dugan not only passed with flying colours but thrived at the back, playing every single minute of the series.

No one will forget his brilliant piece of Origin magic in Origin I as he raced through open field to kick across field for Josh Morris to score.

Consistently throwing his body into the foray in attack and stoutly defending his line, Dugan’s inspirational performance throughout the series was acknowledged as he was awarded the prestigious Brad Fittler Medal.

Overwhelmed with emotion in accepting the award, Dugan had realised his journey back to the top of the rugby league world - and he's determined to continue the fine form in 2016 and beyond after rejecting talk of heading to the NFL.
