The NSWRL have been honoured at Kari Aboriginal Resources Incorporated's (KARI) inaugural Thanking Our Partners event on Wednesday in Sydney.

The NSWRL were named the KARI Partner of the Year 2015 in front of more than 50 of the Indigenous welfare organisation's most important and influential stakeholders.

Chief Executive of the NSWRL, David Trodden, labelled the award "a great honour".

"To receive an award like this is incredibly significant," Trodden told NSWRL.com.au.

"It's a big honour - our partnership is something we value tremendously.

"KARI does great things in the community and for the New South Wales Rugby League to be a partner of theirs and assist them meet their targets and make a huge difference to so many lives is a great thing.

"We're honoured, privileged and incredibly thankful to receive this award."

Chief Executive of KARI, Paul Ralph, said the positive partnership between his organisation and the NSWRL, which sees KARI support the City Origin side as well as the Under-16s Indigenous side and the Young Achievers Tour of Europe, would only get stronger.

"We've been partners for four years now and, particularly over the past two years, the relationship is developing beyond just rugby league - it's now moving towards bringing Indigenous communities together, and seeing our businesses unite too," Ralph said.

"Combining the ideologies of both of our businesses, we're only going to continue to grow. The great relationship we share will only get stronger."
