Handed the dreaded wooden spoon, it was a miserable season for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL.

However, passionate Knights fans have major reason to be optimistic after claiming a magical 2015 NSW Cup premiership.

Storming from seventh place, the Knights would not be denied their moment as they achieved an upset 20-10 premiership victory over the courageous Wyong Roos.

In an electric man-of-the-match performance, Honeti Tuha bagged a brilliant hat-trick in his side’s perfect send off for retiring veteran Clint Newton.

While it was a fairytale ending, Knights fans are hopeful it’s just the beginning of a new wave of success coming very soon.
