Tragedy struck when 20-year-old Kurt Drysdale was severely injured in a tackle that paralysed him from the neck down.

Rushed to hospital where he would stay under intensive care for months, the rugby league community came together in support for Kurt’s inspirational recovery.

The “Unite For Kurt” Round raised much-needed funds for Kurt and his ongoing recovery, with NRL stars Valentine Holmes, Michael Lichaa and Shaun Lane leading the charge.

NSW VB Blues coach Laurie Daley and media favourite Darryl Brohman paid a special visit to Kurt in hospital, sharing the message the entire rugby league community is behind him in every step he makes in his spirited comeback.

On behalf of all NSW Rugby League, we wish Kurt and his family all the best over Christmas and the New Year.
