The Federal Department of Social Services Volunteer Grants Program aims to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers, providing small amounts of money which organisations and community groups can use to help their unpaid workers.
The grants are part of the Government’s work to support the volunteers who help disadvantaged Australian communities and encourage inclusion of vulnerable people in community life.
Earlier in 2016, the NSWRL recognised its hard-working volunteers at the annual Volunteer Of The Year Awards and would encourage people to apply for a grant. Funding amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000 per applicant and applications close on 20 December 2016.
