The VB Blues leading by 24-points with just 10 minutes remaining on the clock in Game I, you could forgive coach Laurie Daley if shaking the hands of his staffers, for celebrating a job well done.
To many, it was comfortable margin for the NSW side, as time ticked away. Though Daley knows Queensland still had the capability to trouble his men late on in the contest.
"There were so many twists and turns in that game, and when you look at it, [Queensland] made a couple of errors towards the end that blew the scoreline out," Daley tells NSWRL.com.au.
"They kept playing for the full 80 [minutes], there were a few try-saves that we had. They cracked us, in the first and in the second-half.
"If they had turned those opportunities into points, all of a sudden it was us on the back foot."
